The Assistant Manager, Packaging will oversee projects from the initial phases of development to the final stages of production and distribution. May include meeting with merchants, design & licensing to understand the scope of the project and ensure production goals are met. This person should be well versed in the development & production process. Have knowledge of industry standards for packaging and execution. Be comfortable communicating with overseas factories and various vendors. Must be organized and familiar with working on projects that have varying deadlines.


  • Building communication & relations within departments (Creative, PD, Merchants, Marketing and Licensing).
  • Overseeing Proper Style Guides/Packaging execution for new programs that are pulled together.
  • Ensure proper style guides are uploaded to correct factories/vendors FTPs on schedule.
  • Primary liaison between company and factories regarding all packaging inquiries.
  • Work alongside creative & merchants approving quality & mock packaging.
  • Sending sample packets (paper stock samples and color proofs) to vendors for quality reference.
  • Alert Product Managers when a mechanical will be late.
  • Communicate production stages and project statuses.
  • Compliance Knowledge is a plus.



  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience preferred - 4+ years of experience in a creative agency, or a related packaging production field.
  • Strong attention to detail fused with great multi-tasking ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple, large projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing, deadline driven environment.
  • Personal organization skills to handle busy daily workload.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong process management skills and commitment to continuously improving quality and timeliness of his/her own work and that of group and department.
  • Ability to work effectively and proactively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Software knowledge: Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office. Adobe CS5 knowledge a plus.
