Job Description


The Director of Distribution Center Facilities is responsible for strategic development and management of Spencer’s distribution centers throughout the country. The Director provides leadership and management of capital resources dedicated to the operation, expansion and ongoing maintenance of the facilities, supporting growth of the organization.


  • Lead, facilitate, and contribute to deliverables related to distribution centers including planning, design, and projects with owned and third party providers.
  • Lead facilities management initiatives that support strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement long-term plans and short-term goals in furtherance of the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders’ groups, vendors, contractors, community and outside technical support providers to maintain a network of support to improve existing properties and assure awareness of new opportunities.
  • Lead new projects and develop, review and design functionality of all projects and existing assets.
  • Prepare and administer budgets and capital plans.
  • Oversee insurances, inspections, and fees to municipalities and service providers.
  • Manage the property owner and building management relationship.
  • Promote diversity of people and ideas within a highly functioning team.


  • 7 years of direct experience in fulfillment center facilities management.
  • Proven leader with exceptional high-level strategic, operational, and interpersonal skills demonstrating broad expertise in industrial facilities development and property management.
  • Successful record of accomplishment of completing mid to large-scale capital projects.
  • Disciplined negotiator in large contract negotiations, able to balance cost, financial, quality and legal terms in complex negotiations.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment with limited direction.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starting mentality able to manage with ambiguity.

Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and minimum seven years related experience.

Computer Skills: Financial Data Systems, Microsoft Office programs, WMS functionality.
