Responsibilities

  • Assist with drafting, negotiating, and execution of commercial retail leases.
  • Manage an extensive portfolio of commercial real estate leases, including assigning transactions to internal and external real estate counsel and managing workflow to ensure deal completion remains on schedule.
  • Track/manage the negotiation, drafting and execution of leases.
  • Engage with developers/landlords and their counsel on the negotiation of real estate leases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience as a legal assistant in Real Estate required
  • Strong client service and demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle and complete multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Strong attention-to-detail, spelling and grammar skills
  • Ability to think critically and analytically, and exhibit sound judgment
  • Effective and proactive team player
  • Flexible and available to work overtime as needed (includes evening and weekend)
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • This person should have at least 5 years of experience as a Commercial RE Paralegal, preferably at top real estate firms/in-house, working with commercial real estate tenants.
