Job Description

Summary/Objective



The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for administering and planning the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs, group health, dental, vision,  flexible spending plan, COBRA administration and leaves of absence administration (including:  short-term disability, long-term disability and FMLA).  Knowledge of 401(k) plans and retirement plans is a plus.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities



  • Assists in the management of the open enrollment process.



  • Act as first level contact for Associate’s questions with benefits.



  • Process health & welfare enrollment elections.



  • COBRA administration.



  • Leaves of Absence administration.



  • Identify areas for streamlining and process improvement.



  • Other duties may be assigned.





Administration



  • Serves as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.



  • Monitors data transfers to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.



  • Investigates discrepancies and provides information in nonroutine situations.



  • Documents and maintains administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.



  • Coordinates/administers daily benefits processing.



  • Handles enrollments, COBRA, terminations, qualifying event changes, beneficiaries, QDROs, QMCSOs, FSA funds requests.



  • Maintains Associate benefits files.



  • Gathers data and oversees the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of payment of administrative fees for all group plans.





Customer Service, Communication, Training



  • Provides excellent customer service support to internal and external associates and guests.



  • Develops communication tools to enhance understanding of our Company’s benefits package.



  • Assists with the design and distribution of materials for benefits orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions.



  • Conducts orientations, training, and support to all Associates.



Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of related benefits analytical and administrative  experience.



  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use MS Office programs.



  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.



  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.



  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.



  • Knowledge of Company benefit plans and all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA.



  • Knowledge Leaves of Absence and Disability administration.



  • Excellent communication and organization skills.



  • Experience with ADP Enterprise and ADP reporting systems a plus.



  • Experience with automation of benefits administration systems a plus.



  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal formats.
