Spirit Halloween/Spencer’s is looking for an experienced assistant to help coordinate all aspects of photography and styling needs for shooting a diverse set of products, with an emphasis on fashion, soft goods/apparel and hardline/electronics/novelty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •           Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are a must.
  • Create photography shoot kits for each product according to brand standards and licensed characters. Includes (but not limited to), competitive research, hair and makeup direction, props and accessories.
  • Supports the coordination/scheduling of all projects and photography workflow.
  • Assist in model castings and bookings as well as scheduling other talent as needed, (hair, makeup, wardrobe stylist).
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of product to studio for scheduled shoots.
  • Help streamline photography process while driving continuous improvement of image quality and branding standards.
  • Support the process for accurate file naming, cropping, uploading and other image preparation and maintenance between studio and creative teams.
  • Ability to assist photo studio team as needed with steaming product/prep work, and other studio requirements to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Ability to enter and extract data from excel and product life management systems.
  • Work collaboratively with all partners to drive and support team success.

Job Requirements



  • Experience in a variety of studio and location settings, fashion models and editorial/studio lifestyle.
  • Balance competing priorities across internal teams.
  • Able to juggle multiple tasks in an ever changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate superior critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS or AS in Commercial/Advertising Photography or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in photography studio/project management.

Computer Skills:

•        Knowledge of digital photography, Mac software, Adobe CS6, Photoshop, Capture One and Global Edit.

  • Strong grasp of different file types and when to use them (TIFF, Jpeg, Gif, PSD, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of image sizing and resolution for print and digital application.

Other Skills and Abilities:

  •           Strong sense of urgency, drive and passion to take ownership of all projects.
  •           Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  •           Strong organizational skills, must be detail oriented and thorough.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work in a fast paced environment juggling multiple projects.
  • Able to relate with many personality types.
  • Interest in fashion trends and styling a must.
  • Retail photography experience a plus.
  • Interest in Halloween, pop-culture, music, teen lifestyle a plus.
