Role Summary:

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain and Logistics is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with third party logistics (3PL) providers. Critical focus areas are eCommerce Fulfillment, West Coast Spirit Seasonal DC Operations and the Spirit Kitting Network (3PL/1PL) which supports the staging and distribution of retail merchandise, supply and construction materials, fixtures and ISE displays to accelerate store openings of Spirit Halloween store format. This is a highly cross-functional role interfacing with Operations, eCommerce, Real Estate, Finance, Legal and other corporate departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to research and evaluate service providers
  • Negotiate commercial terms and service level commitments and implement process, systems and track performance to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead cross functional efforts for start-up and stand down of multiple facilities including forecasts of product receipt, storage requirements, outbound shipping and coordinating with third party and internal IT resources to maintain data and inventory integrity across multiple providers and sites
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of space utilization and stock levels at the 3PL locations. Work with merchandise planning and inventory control to address issues proactively
  • Track receiving and shipping against activity and address exceptions proactively. Work with transportation and warehousing teams to drive continuous improvement on execution
  • Monitor 3PL performance. Visit 3PL sites to conduct audits and ensure proper care of product/inventory and compliance on defined receiving, storing and shipping processes and random audit of inventory. Assess non-compliance penalties for defined process and service level failures as they occur and communicate to service providers to drive improvement
  • Lead cross functional efforts with internal and external resources for corrective action as issues occur and drive improvements in efficiency and process execution

Education and Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or other applicable fields
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain and Logistics management, Operations and/or in a 3PL operating environment
  • 3-5 years of experience in transportation/carrier management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work at all levels of the organization
  • Strong operations, operational assessment and process management skills are a must
  • Excellent logic, judgement and decision making skills
  • Able to apply creative approaches to address issues
  • Able to shift priorities and maintain momentum on multiple projects and objectives
  • Strong data management and analytical skills. Proficient in Excel, PPT, Word and Access database tools
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Intermediate financial management skills, budgeting and forecasting
  • P&L ownership experience
  • Strong KPI management expertise
  • Travel requirements 10% and up to 75% in season
