POSITION SUMMARY Seeking a social media “Guru” for Spencer’s. This role is responsible for driving the brand’s social media and mobile strategy. Candidates must display an eagerness for driving traffic as well as brand awareness across multiple social platforms. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years in social media and the retail industry. The supervisor will need to be an excellent communicator with strong writing experience, enthusiasm for visual communication and have knowledge of a multitude of social media platforms and reporting utilities. Organizational and project management skills are essential as the position requires working with multiple teams across business channels to create an Omni-Channel approach to social media success. RESPONSIBILITIES •    Build, maintain, and grow an engaging brand presence on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.
•    Produce unique content to engage our Social Media communities. Including preparing photo kits and working with photography teams to create compelling visual content.
•    Keep up to date on the most recent information regarding the Social Media sites and how best to maximize customer engagement and growth. Understand the online/mobile communities and provide information and insight into the current platforms as well as any up and coming that would enhance our brand and customer experience.
•    Develop and execute tactics that will promote growth on our social media sites – capture new audiences, invite friends, create groups, create forums, distribute new video and photography footage of brand marketing activities for placement on blogs, social networking sites, search engines, etc.
•    Maintain social media planner/content calendar and campaigns for Omni-Channel use and provide insight to multiple team leaders.
•    Work collaboratively with Marketing, Merchandising, and E-commerce teams to ensure consistent delivery of brand message across all social/digital platforms.
•    Measure and report growth and engagement of social media/mobile initiatives. Analyze effectiveness of programs and determine if action is required in order to improve upon program results.
•    Analyze competitor’s Social Media/Ecomm and provide insight and information to be circulated weekly to the Marketing and Merchandise teams monthly/quarterly.
•    Maximize interaction with social network on a daily basis to keep communities engaged – respond to fan posts regularly while maintaining the voice of the brand.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms including: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube.Excellent writing skills and a strong grasp of the visual language and content creation.
  • Strong self-starter who thinks on his/her feet to solve problems. Ability to recommend, and initiate work and projects with minimal direction.
  • Knowledge of Digital Marketing Platforms that support social media channels such as Sprinklr, Shortstack, Curalate, Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads and Pinterest analytics, etc.
  • Attention to detail, time management skills, exceptional initiative & follow-through skills
  • Superior interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; ability to thrive in a cross-functional, team-based environment is critical.
  • The candidate should have experience with managing online communities and have a skill set that includes customer service, marketing, and online publishing.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or four or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • This includes Microsoft Office programs, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must be proficient with Excel spreadsheets and understand formulas in order to calculate and track results.
  • Knowledge of Mac design programs a plus.
  • Knowledge of Photoshop and Photo editing software a plus.
  • Strong sense of urgency, drive and passion to take ownership of all projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
  • Candidate must be flexible and a creative self-starter who is able to work within an entrepreneurial environment and support multiple projects at once.
  • Knowledge about the latest online, news, technology and social media trends.
  • Exceptional and creative writing skills with a flair for social network, online jargon, humorous and relatable writing style.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Retail and/or customer service experience a plus
