Responsibilities

The position of Staff Accountant performs the daily activities required by the General Ledger Department including assisting in the monthly closing processes. The position provides management with financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing accurate and timely financial statements.

  • Prepares reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts and performs various other general ledger maintenance
  • Prepares general ledger journal entries with supporting analysis
  • Runs interface processes received from other finance departments and validates totals
  • Performs variance analysis by researching accounts, collaborating with co-workers in and outside of Finance to determine the cause of the variance. Compares actual results to both plan and prior year and explains differences
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures to ensure all required reporting is timely and accurate; maintains proper records of reports, analysis and information
  • Assists in special projects as required
  • Cross-train with other members of General Ledger to ensure accurate backup and support for all functions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively independently or in a team environment
  • Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines through a monthly closing process
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products; including Excel
  • Willingness to work additional hours when necessary to support and complete month-end responsibilities

The pay range reflects the potential base salary range for this role. Individual base pay is determined by various factors such as relevant experience and skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Pay Range

$45,000 - $60,000
