Associate Director, Data Architecture

Responsibilities

Lead the data and business intelligence(BI) architecture and data engineering teams and provide strategic and tactical direction for data model architecture/designs, data ingestion (ETL/ELT), data processing with ML/AI considerations primarily using Databricks, Microsoft Azure and PowerBI. Responsible for reviewing, defining, and implementing data architecture and data engineering best practices that ensure data integrity, security, and optimize data access from ingestion to the final data models. Will collaborate with business stakeholders to identify data requirements and translate them into technical specifications in collaboration with his team.  Evaluates and recommends new technologies and methodologies to improve data management practices. Develops and maintains data architecture standards, policies, and procedures. Partners with data scientists, IT analysts, and Application developers to implement data-driven architecture and engineering solutions. Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices. Manages and mentors data architecture and data engineering team members. ***Hybrid position where remote work possible 1-2 days a week.***

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 10 years of experience as a Data Integration Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst or closely related data architecture occupation and 8 years of experience with people and team management and building business partnerships. Required experience must have included hands-on working experience with Data Architecture,  Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, or Data Warehousing/Data Fabric.

Additional skills to include: Experience in leading data architecture teams and managing data architecture projects.  Experience and demonstrated knowledge of agile project delivery framework and DevOps processes. Experience in data product management, platform development, data technology, analytics, and data architecture. Experience with data storage (ADL/S3), big data processing (Kafka, Hive, Databricks, etc.), and modeling techniques (star schema, OLAP). Experience with data ingestion APIs, data sharing technologies, and warehouse infrastructure and development.  Experience with AI/ML Models that Databricks support.

Job Location: Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Hybrid position where remote work possible 1-2 days a week. Travel:  Up to 5% domestic travel for conferences, trainings, meetings.
