Spencer Gifts LLC has an immediate opening for a Compliance and Quality Assurance Manager.  In this position, you would sustain a key supporting role to the Legal team.  Under the direction of the General Counsel and Division Vice President of QA & Compliance, this position is responsible to ensure that all external and internal requirements are met prior to our products reaching our customers. Focus on quality, cost and delivery while ensuring compliance with all required mandatory and quality standards. The goal is to assure the high quality of our operations and services aiming to the long-term success of our business. This position will also provide analytical and technical support to facilitate the Company’s global, legal, and regulatory compliance requirements with a focus on related rules and best practices.  In addition, responsibilities include the validation of information provided by suppliers of Spencer Gifts LLC products to monitor adherence to the Company’s requirements and standards.

 Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the infrastructure capable of supporting existing business as well as growth into new markets including development and oversight of operational processes, policies and procedure.
  • Provide follow up and assistance for both Spirt Halloween and Spencer Gifts LLC testing programs
  • Maintain current knowledge of existing and emerging product safety regulations as well as regulatory compliance requirements such as CPSC, CPSIA, Cal Prop 65, UL, etc.
  • Work with merchants to confirm required testing and communicate all required testing to suppliers.
  • Perform Product Safety, Labeling and TSSA approvals for all Spirit and Spencer’s Softlines and Hardlines TOP samples
  • Manage and maintain product compliance testing documentation across all products and ensure all requirements are up to date.
  • Review product packaging and marketing messaging, to ensure all claims may be substantiated by appropriate testing.
  • Recommend appropriate “Age Grading” of children’s products.
  • Work with trading partners and factories to address issues uncovered during compliance testing.



  • Strong foundation in testing and compliance (soft lines and hardlines experience preferred)
  • Exceptional analytical background/ability
  • Knowledge of US and Canadian government regulations pertaining to import and export administration.
  • Ability to work cross functionally within many different departments.
  • Detail oriented; ability to process high volume work load within deadline with high level of accuracy.
  • Must possess excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and listening skills.
  • Must possess excellent time management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Word, Excel.
