Responsibilities
The Director of Enterprise Solutions will be responsible for enterprise application solutions to support the business. This is a mixture of industry standards applications and custom developed solutions set. The role, reporting to the DVP of Solution Delivery, will have a broad set of team members and technologies to work with while custom development is primarily Microsoft based. A strong technical base as well as experience in retail operations will be required.
- Oversaw the maintenance, integration, and gradual modernization of legacy systems to ensure business continuity while aligning with long-term technology strategy.
- Lead the practice of a transparent organizational dynamic that actively engages technical and business partners in a highly collaborative manner in order to derive the most effective solutions.
- Partner with the business to understand and define the opportunities for continuous improvement or additional capabilities for current or future enterprise solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML capabilities into legacy platforms, driving greater efficiency and reducing manual processes.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of platforms, tools, and data architecture required to enable scalable and secure AI/ML solutions
- Collaborate with the Information Technology departments on projects and activities to ensure the scope and resource needs of the projects are clear.
- Assist in defining and adhering to architectural practices that leverage solutions in a sustainable, adaptable and cost effective manner.
- Ensure metrics are in place to monitor and measure software development projects, ongoing support & maintenance activities.
- Train, develop and retain a high performing software engineering and support team.
- Provide expertise and direction for the developments team to ensure that all project deliverables are clear and align with business objectives/timelines.
- Provide decision-making feedback regarding technical requirements, timelines and software concerns so that design decisions are in line with technical expectations.
- Lead the application support team in maintaining critical business systems, ensuring high availability, timely issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a similar discipline
- Retail or direct to customer industry experience required
- Proven ability to support and extend the life of legacy platforms while developing strategies for system upgrades or replacements.
- Minimum of 5 years in a people management role, with a proven track record of building and developing high-performing IT teams.
- Must have 5 or more years of strategic retail technical management experience
- Direct experience managing parts of the portfolio of retail or wholesale solutions for at least 5 years
- Advanced skills in defining project/team objectives and leading teams to successful completions of projects including use of collaborative development and project tools
- Skilled in shaping IT roadmaps to support AI/ML initiatives with a focus on scalability, data readiness, and governance.
- Experience in working with other partner technology teams (logistics, eComm, store operations, external vendors)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to influence key stakeholders in technical and non-technical subjects
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills; able to articulate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences
The pay range reflects the potential base salary range for this role. Individual base pay is determined by various factors such as relevant experience and skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position.
Pay Range
$170,000 - $195,000
