Responsibilities
The Director of Operations will oversee all warehouse activities at the Charlotte Distribution Center, leading strategic and day-to-day operations across inbound, outbound, inventory, and staffing. This senior leadership role is responsible for achieving high levels of safety, service, and efficiency while driving performance and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will guide cross-functional teams and collaborate with corporate and support departments to meet business objectives and seasonal demands.
- Drive operational excellence by achieving key performance targets for productivity, quality, labor, cost, and safety
- Lead long-term planning initiatives, including capacity forecasting, peak season preparation, and strategic capital investments
- Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure accurate and efficient order fulfillment
- Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, and KPIs for receiving, inventory control, and outbound shipping
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement using LEAN or Six Sigma methodologies
- Lead and mentor a large team of Operations Managers, Supervisors, and hourly staff, promoting development and high engagement
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Human Resources, Information Technology, Safety, Finance, and corporate teams to align operations with company objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field required. Minimum 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in distribution, logistics, or high-volume operations; and/or combination of education and experience
- Proven track record leading salaried and hourly teams (100+ staff) in a large facility (500K+ sq ft)
- Deep understanding of performance metrics, labor planning, and operational KPIs
- Experience with WMS, ERP systems, and fulfillment technologies (Korber, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, SAP, etc.)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and data analysis skills
- Bi-lingual (Spanish), a plus
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and travel as required
