Responsibilities
A Store Systems Support Technical Specialist is responsible for providing advanced technical support to stores, troubleshooting point-of-sale, system, software & application concerns to resolve any issues the stores may experience. Technical Specialists provide 2nd level support to the stores, and are responsible for escalating issues to 3rd level support and management when appropriate. They shall record all troubleshooting and the results of said troubleshooting diligently and completely with an incident management ticketing system. They shall be responsible for completing various daily technical and reporting tasks.
- Work with store associate end users to identify advanced technical issues and determine resolutions with the tools and resources available, including escalating to relevant departments and individuals. This will include receiving calls and tickets escalated by 1st level support.
- Test all POS software and hardware to evaluate suitability, performance, and functionality. Report findings and make recommendations to management & development teams.
- Perform daily tasks such as investigating transaction logs.
- Investigate and report persistent or recurring technical issues to management.
- Review and research ticket history to diagnose and address chronic issues.
- Support Mobile Device Management (MDM) software to remotely control and troubleshoot mobile field devices.
- Research inventory scans, transactions, and other relevant issues via SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and report findings to appropriate department or individual for resolution.
- Test and deploy Windows updates to the field using Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
- Write, update, and review relevant documentation needed for the field and departmental needs as directed by management. Exceptional writing, technical accuracy, and consistent presentation, including correct graphical examples are required.
- Maintain and update department labs, including the Spencers Production, Spencers Testing, and Spirit Production labs.
- Assist in general department training, preparation of management reports, and participation in product user groups.
- Work closely with the Hardware and Development teams to ensure cohesive and comprehensive support of the stores technical services.
- Perform all tasks assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certificate or work experience.
- Strong technical background & problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical, research, and reporting skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, in written, verbal, and visual means.
- Experience taking detailed, comprehensive notes using an incident management ticketing system.
- Point of Sale support experience a plus.
- Experience using SQL queries and Management Studio a plus.
- Familiarity with Mobile Device Management software a plus.
- Familiarity with operational data automation software (eg, Remotelink) a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat are required.
The pay range reflects the potential base salary range for this role. Individual base pay is determined by various factors such as relevant experience and skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position.
Pay Range
$23.50 - $25.00
