Responsibilities
The Loss Prevention Intern will support the Loss Prevention (LP) team with hands-on experience in both physical security and investigative procedures. This position will assist with the deployment, activation, and maintenance of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and alarm systems across Spirit Halloween and Spencer's locations. The successful candidate will gain exposure to real LP investigations, locksmith functions, and security operations, developing a unique and practical skillset for a future career in asset protection or corporate security
Key Responsibilities/Requirements
- Assist with the deployment, setup, and ongoing maintenance of CCTV camera systems and alarm systems for both Spirit Halloween and Spencer's stores
- Support the LP team with troubleshooting and basic upkeep of physical security systems including safes, access controls, and surveillance equipment
- Participate in investigations by observing interviews, reviewing case documentation, and assisting with report development
- Shadow and assist with basic locksmith-related tasks to support store security infrastructure
- Gain exposure to risk mitigation strategies and LP protocols within a retail environment
- Collaborate with internal partners including Store Operations and Facilities to support loss prevention initiatives
Key Competencies/Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field
- Strong interest in asset protection, corporate security, or physical security systems
- Basic understanding of surveillance systems, alarm systems, or investigative procedures is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and willingness to learn technical skills such as locksmithing
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work across departments and teams
Qualifications
The pay range reflects the potential rate for this role. Individual base pay is determined by various factors such as relevant experience and skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Pay Range
$16.00 per hour
